It’s fair to say that as humans, we are not born
with an instinctive understanding of how to communicate with the
dog, in the same way that we do not have a natural understanding of
how to communicate with other animals such as birds, cats, possums
or crocodiles. Now doesn’t that put it into perspective! In
comparison to humans the dog is no closer to our method of
communication than any of those animals. In fact the dog is an
exceptional communicator within its own pack and the key to
communicating with your dog is to do it through way they understand.
This method of training therefore has a goal to teach you as the owner, how to communicate with your dog to give you a better understanding of how to ask the dog to do something and to understand why reprimands aren’t getting the results you’re after. This is done through a well researched method called Amichien Bonding. Amichien Bonding is simply the name given for the way dogs communicate and bond within their packs. Huge lifestyle changes aren’t necessary but small everyday changes can have a huge impact on how relaxed and stress free your dog can become.
Jan Fennell, author of 5 international best sellers, is the founder of Amichien Bonding. She has dedicated her life to learning and understanding the ways of canine communication through years of research involving studies of domestic dogs and those in the wild including Wolves, African Wild Dogs and Dingoes. It was Jan and her son Tony Knight who personally trained Emma on this method.
